Isn’t she just the cutest?! I also put a twinkle in her eye by adding Sparkle pen and, after dry, adding Glossy Accents – which I also added to the coffee and coffee bean – you’ll see it better in the close-up in just a minute. I love those gorgeous stacked embossed and de-bossed dies, too. Here’s the best pic I could get of the inside embossing.

It really is elegant in real life. Don’t know why the pic wouldn’t cooperate and I’m too tuckered out to figure it out. Apologies!

Just wait til you see the details of the front close up, though!

Yes, those are actually fuzzy slippers and a fuzzy bear! First I colored them and did their noses in Glossy Accents. Once dry, I added the flocking (which has some glitter in it). I wish you could touch your screen and feel these warm fuzzies!! Come back when technology catches up, ok?!

It’s been a fun week with the Winter 2016 Coffee Lovers Hop! Here’s a summary of my accomplishments on my ‘brag board’:

20161216_163828

A nice little batch of cards and the ones not already going out will beef up my stash which can always use more. If you’ve been following along, can you spot the project that WASN’T made this week? Yep, the Newton’s Nook game. It was posted during the Cat Lovers Hop, but since it was a super fun project and is also coffee related, you might want to read about it HERE if you missed the original post.

I’d like to thank you all for visiting my blog and for leaving all of those kind and encouraging comments! They always brighten my day!!

I’ll look forward to seeing you soon!

Smile – A Pair of Glittery Roller Coaster Cards

Good Monday morning! I hope you all had a lovely weekend!!

Because it IS Monday, I figure we all need some cheering up, so I made a couple of cards to bring a smile to your faces:

This card came about by a serendipitous accident – my Simon Says Stamp Smile Circle die fell on the Roller Coaster die and I noticed how it fit the loop-de-loop perfectly!

So I cut it out on some shiny blue-black cardstock and snipped the circle at the bottom to line up with the loop:

Then I pulled out some of my NBUS (Never-Before-Used-Schtuff) Simply Defined 2.5″ wide double-sided ‘Stacey’ tape and laid it across my card to hold the dies down and then make my own background. At this point, you may want to wipe the top and bottom of the card with a dryer sheet to help keep the glitter off of it.

Note: Save the release paper to use to press the dies down and later to burnish the glitter!

I added my cars to both cards. On one I snipped off the junctions and used them for heads of people in the cars for the other…

I then added various colors of glitter to both cards, burnishing with the release paper from the double-sided tape.

I always giggle when I play with glitter, remembering that viral e-mail about the lady who quickly freshened up with a washcloth before going to the gynecologist and didn’t understand why he commented on her wanting this to be an extra special visit until she got home and her daughter asked where the rag she had been storing her glitter was… lol!

Tip: glitter cleans up nicely with a Swiffer sweeper cloth. I cut mine in four pieces and keep them with my glitter.

That glitter just makes me want to reach out and touch the sky and see how it feels. You’d expect it to be rough, but it’s smooth. I tried to center the dies on the tape better in the second card. I was afraid to add an extra 1/4″ double sided tape, thinking there might be a line between the two. I like the way these two die cuts combine, don’t you?!

Well, the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop has topped 600 entries already… before the day is done we’ll probably pass our all-time record.

Here is my final card for this hop. The daily grind of ups and downs. It can be for any of the three beverages: Coffee, Tea or Cocoa – you decide!

It’s definitely a short winter’s day on the timeline! Here’s the inside:
