Another Watercolor Lift Technique Card

Good evening. Since I was playing around and there are still a few hours left to hop, I thought I’d go ahead and post this.

No, I didn’t pick up the same card and re-post it (from THIS post). : )

I’m leaving it small because it’s even more pixilated than the previous one.

When I started this, back in February, I’d hoped to post some more about the process of the watercolor lifting technique, and compare the results with Distress Inks and Tombow Dual Brush Pens.

Here is how they started out. Distress Inks are on the top and Tombow markers on the bottom. Then, after adding clear embossed images…

  • Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Inks : Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries, Spiced Marmalade
  • Tombow Dual Brush Pens: 985, 933, 905, 845, 856

Next, I took a wet paper towel and lifted off some of the color that wasn’t under the embossing. On both I had to watch myself as I had a tendency to lift off to much ink. On the left is the one with Distress Inks, On he right, Tombow Dual Brush Pens

Yesterday my crafting partner came to visit and we were looking at the one on the left and thought It might have looked better with the ribbon extending to the left. So I tried that today. Other than that fact that I couldn’t get the ribbon perfectly straight (definitely over-tired! I don’t know why?!! lol!), which one do YOU like best? Extended ribbon or short ribbon?

Well, dear crafty peeps, it was a fun hop! I’m exhausted and still have a lot of commenting and browsing to do on the rest of your entries – which have been outstanding so far! I think I’ll work on that tomorrow. Thanks, again, for stopping by and for all your kind comments! It will be a while before I recuperate and post again. For those of you who only stop by during the hops, see you in three months. For those of you who follow my blog regularly, I’ll probably see you in a couple of weeks.

Hugs,

-D.Ann

Close Encounters of the Crazy Cat Kind

Hello! Today I have a fun card… The Crazy Cats encounter coffee for the first time!

Hahaha! Those CRRAAAZY cats!! I just love these cute and cuddly critters! To make it a spring card I sponged a  stencil on the background in a tone-on-ton spring color. Didja notice the milk mustache and drips? That’s Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal Drops in white… Love how it stays liquid looking! Of course the milk jar and eyes are done with glossy accents. Here’s a chart for the Copic Markers I used in case you’re interested…
