Feline Cat-i-tude – Cat Lovers Hop Day 3

Hello again and welcome back to day 3 of the Cat Lovers Hop!

Today’s card is a simple card that involves a little up-cycling. Cats always love to play in paper bags and these two are no exception!

That cute paper bag was cut from a take-out bag from JB’s on the Beach in Deerfield Beach, FL, using the shopping bag die from the Hop sponsor Paper Smooches.

If you’re ever visiting that area, I highly recommend their Fish and Chips… you’ll have plenty left to take some home to kitty! You’ll also enjoy a great view of the beach while you dine (More details and pics HERE).20151001_124431aW

Or, if you choose to go to the west coast of Florida, you can find oodles of cats paws shells on the beaches there! They’re the smaller ones in the picture below. The larger ones are lions paws purchased at a shop.

The glass has Tardar Sauce on it and says: “I didn’t choose the Grumpy Life – The Grumpy Life chose me. Some days I can relate!

The kitten in the photo is one I had when I lived in South America. His name was Gati (pronounced Gatchy). The white kitty on the card reminds me of him.

Ok, I guess I’ve gone off on several tangents. Time to get back to… Oh look – a butterfly!

Materials used:

  • Paper Smooches Shopping Bag die
  • Spellbinders Kitty Play dies
  • The Paper Company Franchise Basketball Paper (the textured orange cat)
  • American Crafts paper #36840 (the words at the top)
  • Martha Stewart Crafts Lapis Lazuli glitter
  • Wink of Luna Gold & Green (eyes)
  • Sakura Pigma Micron 01 (nose)
  • Copic Markers E00,33; R20
  • Misc. Cardstock, washi tape, lace, adhesives

I’m playing along with the following hops and challenges:

And now for today’s funnies… Since the card used the word feline, this one seemed apropos – at least for a science geek:

Not laughing? Purrhaps some puns…

Still nothing? Guess I’ll hafta put on my thinking cap for the next post.

Wishing you a purrfectly wonderFUR day!

You + Me = Coffee Time

Welcome back!

If you are looking for my Papertrey Ink September Blog Hop card, it is HERE. (TRY not to be totally shocked that I managed to post two in one day… I had a few weeks to prepare! lol!)

Today starts the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Fall Coffee Lovers Blog hop, so I thought this card – in fall orange and copper – would make a good introductory card:

Following social protocol, someone famous said something like: ‘You seem to be stressed – may I offer you a hot beverage?’ There have been plenty of friends with hot beverages in my stressful life lately, so I’m starting off with this simple card. I need to make a batch of them to thank each one of these dear friends!

There will be oodles of cards celebrating hot beverages in this week-long hop – Coffee, tea and cocoa, oh my! : )

I really like how that Tsukineko Brilliance pearlescent pigment ink shines. You can see it better in this picture:
