Stamp-a-Faire 2017 – Faux Iron Thanks Card

The next cool technique from Papertrey Ink’s Stamp-a-Faire event is turning paper into a cool faux rusted iron embellishment. Betsy Veldman has a great tutorial for this HERE. Here’s how my project turned out:

Hard to believe that’s paper, right?! It could easily be an aged metal piece, don’t’cha think?!

But, no – it started out as a lowly piece of white cardstock with a bit of texture paste!

I lined the back of the inside to give more writing space as I don’t want to write too far out to the edge that shows through to the front…

Materials used:

• Papertrey Ink Swoosh stamp and die
• Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles dies
• Core’dinations cardstock: white & black
• Papertrey Ink cardstock: Canyon Clay
• Art-C white molding paste
  • Side note: my molding paste had hardened, but adding water made it liquid again, so you might want to try that before tossing any!
• Papertrey Ink dye inks: Terracotta Tile & Ocean Tides
• Lawn Fawn dye ink: Walnut
• Ranger Perfect Medium
• Ranger Perfect Pearls: Heirloom Gold, Pewter, Green Patina
• Tsukineko Versamark Ink
• Hampton Arts Metallic Copper embossing powder
• Simply Defined ‘Stay Put’ liquid adhesive
• Misc. Twine
