Color Burst & Mama Elephant Hello Friend Summer Cats Card

Hello again, sweet peeps! Thanks for stopping back by to see this card for the Summer 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

  

I pulled out my Color Bursts and, for the first time, added Liquid Metals. I was not disappointed!

Of course, one of the kitty’s ice creams is COFFEE flavored! >^.^<

Just look at that shimmer from the Liquid Metals!!

  • Tsukineko Versamark ink
  • Inkadinkado black emobssing powder
  • Ken Oliver Crafts Color Bursts: Tangerine & Yellow Ochre
  • Ken Oliver Crafts Liquid Metals: Metallic Coral & Yellow Gold
  • Aqua Blend Pencils by Spectrum Noir: Black Umber, Fossil Grey, Hyacinth, Kiwi, Sorrel
  • Canson L’Aquarelle Hot Pressed Watercolor paper 140#
  • Simply Defined 80# Heavyweight Cardstock
  • Simply Defined “Stay Put” All Purposed Liquid Adhesive

  1. Oh my gosh…I can’t stop oooohing and aaaaahing over those little kitties! The one with the coffee stole my heart! I haven’t even heard of Liquid Metals but what a beautiful effect with the Color Bursts. Looks like something I need to look up, after seeing this technique. Your shaped card gives this design such a unique look and I’m wondering how you managed the fold without losing the top of your die cut shape?

    • It takes an extra pass through the die-cutting machine vs the usual ‘don’t-cut-the-top’ method, But I prefer the look of the full die cut. I cut out two die cuts and run a line of glue across the top and fold the back panel when dry.
