The Hop to Stop 2016 and Cat Lovers Hop – Worry is like a Rocking Chair Card

Good evening and welcome! This next card is inspired by Becca’s Hop to Stop 2016 – Raising Awareness for Domestic Violence. Purple is the awareness color.

I have a dear friend who has suffered much and is in need of some encouragement and help to keep from fretting about things, so I made this card for her to go with an orchid.

and on the inside:

In case the writing is too small, it says: “it gives you something to do, but gets you nowhere!” How true! Under the calm and peaceful kitty, I cited a Scripture that provides the perfect antidote to worry: Philippians 4:6, 7. In my experience it works every time!

Materials used:

  • Spellbinders Card Creator A2 Filigree Delight dies
  • Die-Versions “Piano” Sweet Petites die and “Grandmother’s Chair” Whispers die
  • Hanko Designs Jumping Cat and Sleepy Cat stamps
  • Core’dinations cardstock – purples and white
  • DCWV Violet Leaf Stack cardstock
  • Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink
  • Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L adhesives

I am entering this card in the following hops and challenges. If you’d like to join the fun, click on any one of them for more information:

I’ll be back tomorrow with another delightful interview and another cat card… peaceful dreams!

  1. The sentiment on your card sums it up perfectly, but it’s still so hard to stop from worrying, isn’t it? Those stamps are so appealing and really capture the personality of a cat. Your friend is really going to appreciate your thoughtfulness.

  4. This is an awesome card! It’s so pretty and the verse is so meaningful. Your cats are purr-fect to go with this–first the rocking one and then the one settling down and not worrying.

  5. Ugh – worry is the bane of so many people, isn’t it? I personally am not a worrier – I give myself a day or two to worry like a mad woman, and then that’s it! Like I’ve said, if worrying put money in my pocket then it would be worth while 🙂 I love those 2 kitties, they are so cute – and positioning them on the rocking chair is purrfect! Hugs! 8. Just BEAUTIFUL. D.Ann!! What wonderful dies and images. I love how the kitty is climbing *down* into the rocking chair (not *up*….I mean, what cat takes the easy way in???) before settling in contentedly. That cozy feline resting position is what our family calls “henning”….looks like a plump little hen on her nest! That peaceful kitty is such a perfect accompaniment to the encouraging scripture verse….almost even looks like kitty’s paws are folded in prayer. 🙂 Thank you for sharing this calming and supportive card.

Thanks so much for participating in the 2016 Cat Lovers Hop!
