Happy Monday! Here’s a little something to brighten up your day!
Yowza! That oughtta wake ya right up! : ) I love spring for the riot of colors busting out all over and now I love Color Bursts for the same reason! Today I was tickled pink to receive a set of Color Burst brights that I’d won from Blitsy Crafts for playing their #BlitsyCraftMonthIGChallenge on Instagram a few days ago. Thanks Blitsy!! There’s still time to play if you’re interested – It runs til the end of March! You can find the details HERE. They’re giving away some fab prizes!
On day 15 their prompt was Home, so I whipped up this little gift tag with Sugar Pea Designs Home Sweet Home die & Heart Border die, drew in some curtains and posted it – easy-peasy! (BTW: Sugar Pea Designs is one of the Super Sponsors of the Spring Coffee Lovers Hop – Thanks!):
Of course, I HAD to break the Color Bursts out to play with right away! I made an acetate cup as a stencil mask and sprinkled just a few drops of each color of the powder, spritzed water on it and used my Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Marker Spritzer sans marker to blow the watercolors outward. I had hoped for a nice cup shaped negative space, but the water got under my stencil and it didn’t turn out like I’d hoped. So I cut another cup out of paper, and pressed it into the Versamark pad, sprinkled it with WOW! Metallic Gold Sparkle Embossing Glitter and heated it up for a shiny cup to cover my mistake – um, I mean OPPORTUNITY! The great thing about art is there are plenty of opportunities to fix things and make them better. : )
That fun sentiment from Lil’ Inker Designs (another of the Super Sponsors for the Spring Coffee Lovers Hop – Thanks!!) didn’t look right all by itself, so I took a Perfect Medium Pen and drew in some steam and embossed it, too.
I saw someone recently ask about warped watercolor paper and I wanted to share this tip:
See how warped the paper is? That’s even after trying the trick of turning it over and heating the reverse side. But I find that using Tombow Xtreme permanent adhesive – just around the edges and a short line in the middle will easily solve the problem. It does take a while to get used to snapping off to the side before lifting the applicator at the end, but it’s worth getting used to that one little detail!! (And, no, I don’t have any affiliation with Tombow!) You can then use regular adhesive for the next layers.
Well, I’ve taken up enough of your time! I really didn’t mean to blather on so much… must have had too much caffeine today! : )

Thanks for letting me talk your ears off today! Oh… that reminds me of something funny…
The Brazilian idiomatic expression for stalking waaayyy too much is: ‘falar pelos cotovelos’ which literally means ‘talk through the elbows’! Kkk!! : ) Aren’t languages FUN?!!
If this is your first time to my blog, you can find out what Kkk! means HERE. And there is blog candy HERE.
Hope to see you again tomorrow!

Wow what a fun and energetic card! This reminds me of Spin Art backgrounds that we made when we were kids where you drop blobs of paint onto a spinning piece of card stock to make splashy papers like that. I just love it!
