Feline Cat-i-tude – Cat Lovers Hop Day 3

Hello again and welcome back to day 3 of the Cat Lovers Hop!

Today’s card is a simple card that involves a little up-cycling. Cats always love to play in paper bags and these two are no exception!

That cute paper bag was cut from a take-out bag from JB’s on the Beach in Deerfield Beach, FL, using the shopping bag die from the Hop sponsor Paper Smooches.

If you’re ever visiting that area, I highly recommend their Fish and Chips… you’ll have plenty left to take some home to kitty! You’ll also enjoy a great view of the beach while you dine (More details and pics HERE).20151001_124431aW

Or, if you choose to go to the west coast of Florida, you can find oodles of cats paws shells on the beaches there! They’re the smaller ones in the picture below. The larger ones are lions paws purchased at a shop.

The glass has Tardar Sauce on it and says: “I didn’t choose the Grumpy Life – The Grumpy Life chose me. Some days I can relate!

The kitten in the photo is one I had when I lived in South America. His name was Gati (pronounced Gatchy). The white kitty on the card reminds me of him.

Ok, I guess I’ve gone off on several tangents. Time to get back to… Oh look – a butterfly!

Materials used:

  • Paper Smooches Shopping Bag die
  • Spellbinders Kitty Play dies
  • The Paper Company Franchise Basketball Paper (the textured orange cat)
  • American Crafts paper #36840 (the words at the top)
  • Martha Stewart Crafts Lapis Lazuli glitter
  • Wink of Luna Gold & Green (eyes)
  • Sakura Pigma Micron 01 (nose)
  • Copic Markers E00,33; R20
  • Misc. Cardstock, washi tape, lace, adhesives

I’m playing along with the following hops and challenges:

And now for today’s funnies… Since the card used the word feline, this one seemed apropos – at least for a science geek:

Not laughing? Purrhaps some puns…

Still nothing? Guess I’ll hafta put on my thinking cap for the next post.

Wishing you a purrfectly wonderFUR day!

  1. I love your cat dies! The white one peeking out is so cute! These are on my wish list – I remember seeing you use them at the Coffee Lovers Hop! I might have to press the order button now that I have some birthday money to spend! Great upcycling with the paper bag! Cute kitty memes – I like the last one the best!

  2. D.Ann…..Your posts are such a fabulous addition to the Cat Lovers Hop. I look forward to each one!!! Love your collage-look card with all the wonderful elements and the upcycled bag. Cats and paper sacks…..an iconic combination! Keeps them busy for days!!! So cute how you have the two of them playing together with the sack. I also love the use of the music washi tape!!!

I love so much how you make your photo displays. So much fun to see all the interesting things you include each time. I totally LOVE the Cat’s Paw shell you sent me. I didn’t know there were Lion’s Paws, too! Wow.

I am a total science geek, so I am loving your FeLiNe meme. I hadn’t seen that one before. All of them are so much fun. Thanks for including them for our hop!!!!

  3. How cute! Who wouldn’t want some fabulous fish & chips … kitties especially! lol This is an awesome design & very creative – love it!

  4. Haha!! Oh, I am laughing so much after reading your post (and fabulous cat puns) that it’s probably illegal! The thinking cat one is priceless! I have also been enjoying the peeks at your various cat themed knick knacks and that DELICIOUS looking fish and chips. I doubt that I would share my leftovers with our cat…it would be all for me. Your card is fun and clever in every way. Anyone who owns a cat knows how much they love to climb into bags so this couldn’t be more perfect!
